PienzaWe’ll visit charming villages, famous  vineyards and have the opportunity to work with the   quintessential Italian chef who will  show us the secrets to classic regional dishes. To top it all off, we have a 13c Villa for our home!

I have done this tour before so I can assure you an experience you won’t soon forget!

Day 1,  Arrive VENICE

Coach to hotel.  Relax, acclimate and explore if you’d like. D




Day 2 Splendid tour of Venice  ­  Today experience this  incredible , unique city from the  water and by foot .  After a walking tour of the  city and a visit to St Marks,    the Doge Palace and a Gondola tour, for those interested we will take a short boat ride to Murano to see the glass blowers.  Dinner will be in a trattoria. Day 3 ­, Leave Venice for Tuscany ­Parmesan and Balsamic ­Parma Modena  On the way down to Florence area we will stop and visit the  “magnificent three”,  Parmesan , Prosciutto and Balsamic Vinegar . This is in the area of Parma­ Modena, where the producers of  DOP products proudly offer us visits and tastings .  

Later, we arrive at the Villa Pandolfini estate and our welcome dinner.  We will arrive in the afternoon and settle into our accommodations, relax and freshen up for the ‘Benvenuto’ Dinner”which will take place in the villa’s historical 14th C kitchen,  the  heart of this gastronomical adventure! Day 4  Florence 

It’s Market Day!

This morning you will meet  the guide to witness the  incredible  ingredients  of Tuscan food in the central food markets. This market has served the  Florentines a huge variety of fresh  food  from meats and seafood to fresh pastas, breads, spices,  vegetables  and fruits galore , vinegars and oils for centuries.

                            Duomo After the market you will be taken for an enlightening historical  walking tour of this most amazing,  Renaissance city .                          Lunch  in a trattoria before  visiting the famous Uffizi museum.

Dinner will be at a local  restaurant in  the country,  either the restaurant  at the famous old residence of Enrico Caruso or a beautiful restaurant on the hills above Florence. B,L, D


Day 5 ­ Southern Tuscany tour. Montalcino, Pienza ,Montepulciano   This day has been  designed   to  give you an introduction to the magnificent Tuscan countryside , it’s people, history  and  culture.   You may recognize  the landscape as it is where   ‘The English Patient”  and  ‘Gladiator were filmed. Tuscan Landscape


Throughout the day we will                                                          visit a charming              DSC01419medal winning  vineyard estate (where you will  have the opportunity to  savour their famous  wines, of course!), and the characteristic   towns of  Pienza and  Bagno  Vignoni, famous for the natural hot springs.

We will have time to relax in the quaint village of Pienza, full of  lovely shops selling crafts and local produce. The most famous is  the pecorino cheese.

DSC01461Each small grocer is adorned with the many types of  cheeses produced by the local farmers and their ingenious  ways of flavouring  the cheese from  straw to chestnut  leaves , cave aging  and truffles. Stop in and taste the samples offered!

The most beautiful view of the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE which is absolutely  spectacular  can be seen from the back of the church.

montalcino_smallLunch will  be  in a local  trattoria ,  then enjoy a  wine  tasting  and a visit to the  Medici  hilltop  town of  Montalcino, then on to  Montepulciano­ , another charming Tuscan town.

Dinner will be in a local  pizzeria just down the road from our estate. B,L,D

Day 6 ­ Cooking day  10am start , Afternoon Free

Another fun morning in the kitchen cooking up a Tuscan storm, then, of course, we will enjoy the fruits of our labors with a sit down lunch!

The afternoon is free to  relax or to return to  Florence. B, L

Day 7 ­ Chianti and Siena    Depart 9am­ A full day of rolling Tuscan hills , pretty Chiantishire towns and  SienaDSC01657Siena  is a  breathtaking, well  preserved larger  Tuscan town , home  to  the famous Palio  horse race and the  incredible  Piazza DSC01360 del Campo.Her Duomo is also definitely worth a  visit and meandering   the shop filled streets   is a delight in itself .DSC01679

After Siena we will continue to the smaller towns of Chianti where a  visit to a winery is a must and a  relaxing lunch in a trattoria.  Return to the villa by 5pm to rest before dinner in locally.B,L

Day 8­ Maremma ­ Bolgheri 

This is the  “cowboy land” of Tuscany which is also the home to DSC01416“Super Tuscan’s”.  We’ll visit a buffalo  milk mozzarella   and  cheese  producer for a  tour of the  farm and cheese  tastings … then a Cellar tour for wine tasting of some of those famous Tuscan wines.B,L

Day 9­  Cooking and Artimino 

Coffee and cappuccino at a local pastry shop.

DSC01725Then a short drive to the charming  village  of  Artimino to visit a ceramic  producer and see the art  involved in  producing the italian  masterpieces  from an  area that  has been famous since  the 1700’s .

We will then drive through the countryside to reach a Medici Villa. Here, at Poggio Caiano, the history unfolds of this amazing family that held Florence in it’s hands for hundreds of years and gave the world the treasures of masters such as Di Vinci and Michelangelo. Lunch in a  picturesque hamlet nearby,  with a  breathtaking view, then  back for your final cooking class and  farewell dinner . B, L,DDSC01642





Day 10­ Departure or Optional Rome extension 

Rome Extension

AM departure to go to Rome . 4 star hotel accommodation.

Lunch in Piazza NavonnaCheck ­in to hotel , afternoon free. B,D

Day 11­  Guided tour of Rome .

Classical Rome : The Forum

Roman Forum­,  Colosseum, ­ Spanish Steps 6 hour tour. Free evening. B








Day 12 ­ Morning : Vatican , St Peters ­ Highlights: Michelangelo’s Dome, Pine­cone Courtyard  (Cortile della Pigna), Chiaramonti Collection,                                               Pio ­Clementino Collection, Stanza Rotonda, Stanza della  Croce Greca, Bramante’s Triple Gallery, Raphael’s Rooms, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica and St.  Peter’s Square.

Free afternoon to catch up on any unfinished shopping or simply  stroll around the city , one never  gets tired of it ! ­


Breakfast and Farewell to Rome dinner.

 Day 13 -checkout­  transfer to airport
